Our approach

Swedic asks for very little. There is no account and no sign-up, and your saved words and settings stay on your device. The app is free and shows ads, and the section below explains what that means for your data.

Information stored on your device

Your use of the app lives on your device rather than in an account:

Words you bookmark or save.
Your recent searches and lookup history, if the app keeps them.
Your app settings.

This data is not tied to a name, an email address, or an account. If you delete the app, it goes with it.

Information collected automatically

To keep the app stable and to understand how features are used overall, we may collect limited technical and usage information, such as crash reports, general app activity, and basic device information. Where this is used for analytics, it is kept in an aggregated or de-identified form and is not used to identify you personally.

Word searches sent to our servers are used to return results and to improve the dictionary. They are not linked to your identity.

Swedic is free and supported by ads served by third-party advertising partners. To show and measure ads, these partners may process information such as your device's advertising identifier, general device and app information, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you interact with the ads.

This processing happens under the advertising partner's own privacy policy, not ours. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give advertisers your saved words or your search history.

Where the law requires consent for personalised ads, the app asks you first, and you can change your answer later in the app or in your device settings.

Your choices

You stay in control:

Reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings to opt out of personalised ads.
Change or withdraw your ad consent where the app asks for it.
Delete saved words from within the app, or remove everything by uninstalling it.

How information is shared
