Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Meem handles information when you use the app. Meem is developed by banimo.net. The app records meetings and turns them into notes, so this page focuses on what happens to those recordings.
Looking for the app itself? Back to Meem.
Our approach
Meem handles meetings, which means it handles things people said out loud and expected to stay in the room. We treat recordings and transcripts as sensitive by default: they are yours, we process them to give you notes, and we do not use them to train models or sell them to anyone.
What the app holds
Using Meem creates a few kinds of content:
- Audio you record in the app.
- The transcript produced from that audio.
- The summary, decisions, and action items generated from the transcript, plus any edits you make.
- Titles, dates, and app settings you set yourself.
Recordings and notes stay on your device unless you turn on a feature that needs the cloud, such as transcription on our servers or sync between your devices.
How transcription and summaries work
To turn a recording into text and then into notes, audio or transcript text is sent to speech-to-text and AI processing services acting on our behalf. They process the content to return your result and are contractually barred from using it for their own purposes, including model training.
Audio sent for processing is deleted once the transcript is returned. If you delete a meeting in the app, the recording, transcript, and notes for it go with it.
Information collected automatically
We may collect limited technical and usage information — crash reports, general app activity, and basic device information — to keep the app stable and understand which features are used. Where this is used for analytics it is aggregated or de-identified, and it never includes the content of your meetings.
Recording other people
You decide what to record, and you are responsible for doing it lawfully. Recording and consent rules vary by country and by state, and in many places every participant has to agree before you start. Please tell the room, and get consent where it is required.
Your choices
You stay in control of your meetings:
- Delete any recording, transcript, or set of notes from inside the app.
- Edit anything the AI got wrong — nothing is locked.
- Turn off cloud features and keep the app on-device where the app offers that option.
- Uninstall the app to remove everything stored on your device.
- Ask us to delete anything held on our servers by writing to the address below.
How information is shared
We share information only in limited cases: with the processing providers described above, strictly to deliver the feature you asked for; with services that help us run the app, such as crash reporting and app distribution; and where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the app.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not hand your recordings or notes to advertisers.
Data retention
Content on your device stays there until you delete it or remove the app. Content processed on our servers is kept only as long as needed to give you the result and is then deleted. Technical and usage data is kept only as long as we need it to run and improve the app.
Security
Content in transit is encrypted, access to any server-side processing is restricted, and we keep what we hold to a minimum. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but a small data footprint is a large part of how we approach it.
Children
Meem is a tool for work and is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may notify you in the app. Continuing to use Meem after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
