This Privacy Policy explains how Lyska handles information when you use the app. Lyska is developed by banimo.net. We aim to collect only what is needed to make the app work and to keep your learning available to you.

Our approach
We designed Lyska to keep data handling simple and limited. Much of your learning, such as saved words and progress, lives on your device, and we only process information where it is needed to provide a feature you use.
Information you provide
Depending on how you use Lyska, this may include:
- Account details such as your name and email address when you sign in.
- Your learning activity, such as the words you pin, your study progress, and streaks.
- Your preferences, such as translation languages and reminder times.
- Images you choose to scan with the camera to find Swedish words.
Information collected automatically
To keep the app reliable and to understand how features are used overall, we may collect limited technical and usage information, such as general app activity and basic device information. Where used for analytics, this information is kept in an aggregated or de-identified form and is not used to identify you personally.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide core features such as the dictionary, saved words, study sessions, and daily words.
- Keep your saved words and progress available to you across the app.
- Send reminders and notifications you turn on, and let you turn them off at any time.
- Maintain security, prevent misuse, and fix problems.
- Understand overall usage so we can improve the app.
Camera and photos
The camera and photo features are used only when you choose to scan an image to find Swedish words. Scanned images and the words they produce are kept for your own scan history and can be deleted by you. We do not use your images to identify you.
Storage on your device
The dictionary and much of your learning data are stored on your device so the app works quickly and can be used offline. Removing the app from your device removes data stored locally on it.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in limited cases: with trusted providers that help us operate features such as sign-in, secure storage, payments, and notifications, strictly to provide those services; and when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the app.
Payments are processed by the app store you used to install Lyska, under that store's own privacy practices. We do not receive or store your full payment details.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app and your account, and as required for legitimate or legal reasons. You can remove saved words, scan history, and other learning data within the app, and you can stop using your account at any time.
Your choices
You stay in control of your information. You can:
- Turn reminders and notifications on or off.
- Choose which translation languages you see.
- Delete saved words and scan history from within the app.
- Manage device permissions, such as the camera, in your device settings.
- Contact us to ask about the information associated with your account.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data protected.
Children
Lyska is intended for a general audience and is not directed at young children. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may notify you in the app. Continuing to use Lyska after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
