These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Fokus Medborgare app and its features. Fokus Medborgare is developed by banimo.net. By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. About Fokus Medborgare

Fokus Medborgare is a study app for the Swedish citizenship civics test (samhällskunskapsprovet, also referred to as medborgarskapsprovet). It offers lessons based on the thirteen chapters of the official study guide Sverige i fokus, practice questions, a review section, and a timed mock exam, with explanations available in several languages.

The app is a study aid. It is not a legal, immigration, or citizenship advisory service, and it does not decide, influence, or guarantee the outcome of any test or application.

2. Not an official app

Fokus Medborgare is an independent app made by banimo.net. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or produced in cooperation with the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), the Swedish Migration Agency (Migrationsverket), or any other public authority.

Names such as Sverige i fokus, samhällskunskapsprovet, and the names of the authorities above are used only to describe what the app helps you study. They belong to their respective owners.

Rules, exam formats, and study material for the citizenship test are set by the authorities and can change. Always check the official sources for the current requirements — the app follows them as closely as it can, but it is not the authority on them.

3. Eligibility

You may use Fokus Medborgare only if you are able to form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you are using the app on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for them.

4. No account needed

Fokus Medborgare does not require an account. Your progress is kept on your device, which means it is yours to keep and yours to lose: uninstalling the app, resetting the device, or clearing the app's data removes it, and we cannot restore it for you.

The first name you may enter during the intro is used only for greetings inside the app.

5. Study content and results

We work to keep the lessons, questions, explanations, and translations accurate and aligned with the official study material, but mistakes happen and material changes over time. Content is provided "as is" without any guarantee of completeness, accuracy, or suitability for a particular purpose. If you spot something wrong, the report option in the app is the fastest way to tell us.

Using the app does not guarantee that you will pass the civics test. Practice results, readiness indicators, and mock exam scores are estimates based on your answers in the app — they are not predictions and they carry no official weight.

UHR has not published an official pass mark for the civics test. The pass threshold used in the app's mock exam is our own, chosen as a practice target, and it may differ from whatever the official requirement turns out to be.

6. Translations

Explanations and translations in Swedish, English, Arabic, Persian, and Somali are provided to help you understand the material. Practice questions default to Swedish because the real exam is in Swedish. Translations are aids, not authoritative versions — where a translation and the Swedish source differ, treat the Swedish as the one that counts.

7. Acceptable use

When using Fokus Medborgare, you agree not to:

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in a way that harms others.
  • Copy, resell, or redistribute the lessons, questions, or other materials except as the app allows.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its systems.
  • Submit misleading or abusive problem reports.
  • Present the app, or content from it, as official material from a Swedish authority.

8. Purchases

If Fokus Medborgare offers optional paid features, the price and billing terms are shown in the app before you confirm anything. Payments, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by the app store you installed from, under that store's terms, and subscriptions are managed in that store's settings. Unless applicable law or the store's policy says otherwise, payments are non-refundable.

9. Intellectual property

Fokus Medborgare, including its name, design, features, and original content, is owned by banimo.net and protected by applicable laws. You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the app for your own studying. No other rights are granted.

10. Service availability and changes

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update or pause the app from time to time — including when the official material or exam format changes. We aim to keep the app running smoothly but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free access. Some features may depend on your device, your settings, or your internet connection.

11. Disclaimers

Fokus Medborgare is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, banimo.net will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for loss of data or study progress, arising from your use of, or inability to use, Fokus Medborgare — including any test or application outcome.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app, if any, in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

13. Termination

You may stop using Fokus Medborgare at any time by removing it from your device. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are breached or if it is needed to protect the app or its users.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may notify you in the app. Continuing to use Fokus Medborgare after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
